Partometer is a camera tool that allows for accurate object dimension measurements on your iPhone. It is a practical and convenient App that can be used as a ruler or tape measure.

The App performs non-contact in plane measurements using the phone camera and a reference object with a known size. It provides common objects like credit cards, sheets of paper, DVDs/CDs, etc., as well as the option to use custom objects.

Users have the option to work with either the live camera view or an uploaded image from the gallery. The App offers various measurement modes, including Length Mode, Angle Mode, Area Mode, and Circle Mode, allowing for versatile measurement capabilities.

Measurement results are displayed in different units based on user settings, and it also calculates dimensions of objects relative to the reference object. The App provides two editing modes, Edit and Zoom, to help users align rulers and accurately mark objects.

Partometer is particularly useful for measuring larger distances on a plane where traditional rulers or measuring tapes may be impractical. Simply place the reference object on the measurement plane, ensure both the object of interest and reference object fit into the camera view, take a picture, and perform measurements.

In addition to its practical functionalities, Partometer offers a range of use cases, such as measuring room size, estimating furniture size, measuring baggage size, measuring distances on objects for handcraft or woodcraft projects, measuring size of large objects outdoors using reference objects like sheets of paper, accurately measuring small objects using A4 or letter sheets, comparing objects, estimating pupilary distance using a credit card as a reference, quickly measuring fish size or previous catches using personal height as a reference, measuring fabric or cloth area and size, measuring trees, measuring angles and pitch gauge, measuring spark plug gaps, calculating area of irregular shaped objects, determining measurements of internal features or irregular shaped areas on X-rays with a reference object (useful for dentists), and much more depending on individual imagination.

Thanks to its advanced capabilities and a combination of measurement conditions, reference objects, and distance, Partometer can achieve sub-mm resolution when needed.
